Domingas Pereira, 87, of Roosevelt Avenue died peacefully on Monday, October 10th at home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Mato, Brava, Cabo Verde, to the late Maria Mourato Pereira and Eugenio Pereira.
She’s survived by her husband João de Brito "João Di Pomba" and 7 children; Judith Gonçalves of Providence, Maria Pereira of Pawtucket, late Auxilia Pereira, João Pereira of Pawtucket, Emilia de Barros of Pawtucket, Adriano Galvão of São Vicente Cabo Verde, Junior Pereira and wife Wansri Saechew of Florida, Sandra Costa and husband Francisco Costa of Cumberland, 24 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
She’s the sister of late Candida Baptista, late Auta Pereira, late Jorge Pereira, Adelaide Lopes of São Vicente, Cabo Verde, Manuel Pereira of Portugal and late Jose Pereira. She’s also survived by many nieces, nephews and countless friends. She worked as a machine operator at School House of Candy for 10 years and retired at the age of 62. Domingas enjoyed singing, cooking and loved a good walk with her children. She impacted everyone she came across with her contagious personality and uplifting laughter. She loved making jokes with her grandchildren and always saw the best in others. The way she loved people you could literally feel how genuine and generous she was. She lived by example. Our hopes are to live up to her outstanding legacy.

Relatives and Friends are invited to attend calling hours Sunday, October 16th at The Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave. Lincoln from 2pm-5pm. Her Funeral will begin at 8:30am on Monday, October 17th at the Keefe Funeral Home followed by a Mass Of Christian Burial at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 291 High Street Pawtucket RI at 10:30am. Burial will be in Swan Point Cemetery, Providence.
